Resolve Emotional Pain FAST with Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Find relief in as few as 1–5 sessions or in one intensive, without rehashing painful memories.
Feeling stuck in traditional talk therapy?
You’re tired of not seeing enough progress from all the work you’ve put into your healing journey.
You’re on edge from a recent stressful or even traumatic event and it’s now affecting your sleep, work, or relationships.
You’re enjoying the benefits of talk therapy AND you’d like to see how targeting painful memories head on could help you dig deeper and accelerate your progress even faster.
✨LET ART CARRY THE LOAD FOR YOU✨
INTENSIVE ACCELERATED RESOLUTION THERAPY (ART) RETREATS CAN HELP YOU:
Let go of the past without all the talking
Release the baggage and triggers holding you back from the life you want
Get off the emotional roller coaster and help you feel at peace.
ART uses the power of eye movements (bilateral stimulation), visual image replacement, gestalt therapy, and meditation to reprogram the way stressful memories and images are stored in the brain so that they don’t trigger intense physical and emotional reactions.
ART can save money and reduce stress in a matter of months days or weeks.
This specialized approach can help you process an entire memory, the emotions connected to it, and find relief from your pain in just about 90 minutes. You don't even have to talk about the memory with the therapist.
-
When we recall an emotional memory, it can be open to change. This happens a lot to our every day memories and we don’t even realize it.
ART has you intentionally open up your memory to be more open to change that can relieve you from the troubling images, sensations, and the emotions that perpetuate your pain.
-
During an ART session, I’ll guide you to visualize the traumatic event and create a new story as your eyes move side to side.
You’ll imagine replacing images and sensations associated with the traumatic memory with your own choice of images and sensations that are more pleasing and positive.
As your brain visualizes the problem with eye movements, the way you think and feel about the problem begins to naturally shift.
While you’ll retain the ability to recall the facts of the incident(s), you’ll no longer experience the intense emotions previously associated with it.
-
Unlike traditional talk therapy that can last months or even years, ART can help you work through a specific problem within 1-5 sessions.
You’ll replace your negative or painful images with a more positive or neutral one to help reframe the issue you’re working on to give you a new perspective.
-
Both ART and EMDR are excellent evidenced based eye movement therapies to deal with stress and trauma. Although they’re both effective, there are some key differences that may make ART a better fit for you.
EMDR works to desensitize you to a memory which can help you process a trauma, but doesn’t help you reshape your emotional narrative of the event. ART aims to leave you feeling empowered and satisfied.
EMDR often requires you to discuss your trauma/stressful event which can be re-traumatizing for some. ART allows you to process distressing experiences internally, without ever having to share what happened if you choose.
EMDR often encourages free association which can at times leave clients feeling lost whereas ART uses specific scripts to guide clients.
EMDR can take between 6-12 sessions to complete treatment on one trauma. ART aims to clear trauma within 1-5 sessions.
Why Choose ART Before Traditional Talk Therapy?
-
Trauma and unresolved emotional pain can stop progress right in it’s tracks, preventing deeper reflections and progress from happening.
ART swiftly desensitizes and reprocesses distressing memories, allowing you to feel emotionally lighter and more open to exploring other aspects of your life in later talk therapy sessions.
-
With ART, many clients see significant improvements in just a few sessions.
Feeling better earlier in a therapy journey can fuel a positive mindset and be a crucial building block for a trusting, therapeutic relationship.
-
ART helps you focus on solutions, not just stories. ART uses eye movements and visualization techniques to help you reframe negative images and emotions associated with painful experiences.
This approach helps you feel better without the need to extensively verbalize or analyze your pain.
Talk therapy can at times put clients at risk of being retraumatized when discussing their pain. ART helps you avoid that as much as possible.
-
ART leverages your brain’s natural neuroplasticity to create new, healthier associations with previously distressing memories.
This biological foundation makes it easier to engage in talk therapy focused on personal growth, relationships, and communication skills without being weighed down by persistent emotional triggers.
-
Many issues like anxiety or relationship challenges are rooted in subconscious or somatic responses that traditional talk can hit a threshold with.
ART quickly regulates these responses, establishing a more stable emotional baseline for you to engage in reflective dialogue during talk therapy.

What is an Accelerated Resolution Therapy Intensive?
An intensive format uses longer sessions over a shorter time period (say, 2-5 hours in a day or week versus traditional 45-55 minute weekly therapy sessions). This dedicated length of time to work on your desired transformation gives us the flexibility to really dive in on specific issues that are keeping you stuck.
-
You’ll get a personalized tailored-for-you plan of action for your intensive.
Since we’ll have an extended length of time during our sessions, you won’t have to worry about getting into deep work only to hear me say “let’s pick up there next week since we’re out of time.”
These longer sessions allow you to dedicate the energy for diving into tougher topics so that you can get to that level of vulnerability needed that may take months in traditional therapy.
You’ll have time to feel, process, and prepare to go on about your day.
-
Look I’m a big believer in regular online talk therapy as much as the next therapist, but that can be proven tough to be efficient for some situations. Specifically with stressful events or trauma.
When starting traditional therapy, you can spend the first 4-6 sessions in assessment and forming goals for treatment.
Some people drop out of traditional talk therapy early on because they feel like it isn’t working and progress is too slow.
With ART, you can see results as soon as the first session. An intensive can help move through quite a spectrum of emotions and new realizations about the situation all with the help of eye movements.
-
For the amount of traditional therapy to get the results you want (4-6 months worth) you can get the same impact and results within just a few days or weeks.
Intensives and retreats are perfect for people who want to see faster progress by having longer or more scheduled sessions so your new way of thinking and feeling can be implemented ASAP.
You’d spend a lot of money on months (or even years) of therapy. Though the up front financial cost of an intensive retreat seems hefty, it’s much cheaper than long term therapy, the cost of losing sleep, or even losing relationships!

During an ART session, your therapist will sit directly in front of you and use their hand to guide you to visualize the traumatic event and create a new story. As your eyes move side to side you will be encouraged to think of your problem in the context of a “scene,” as if you were watching a movie clip.
You imagine replacing images and sensations associated with the traumatic memory with your own choice of images and sensations that are more pleasing and positive. You will alternate between playing through your “scene” for short periods of time and using eye movements to calm physical sensations and emotions that arise when you think of your problem.
As your brain visualizes the problem with eye movements, the way you think and feel about the problem begins to naturally shift. While you retain the ability to recall the facts of the incident(s), you no longer experience the intense emotions previously associated with it.
-
You might have tried traditional talk therapy, maybe even for years, and seem to be frustrated with slow or little progress with your anxiety symptoms.
When regular talk therapy is used, it focuses on changing your thoughts but often leaves you disconnected to your emotional and physiological responses, which keeps you stuck on the anxious rollercoaster.ART helps you make the connection between your anxious experience cognitively and emotionally so your pain doesn’t stay stuck.
-
Post traumatic stress occurs when a person has difficulty recovering after experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event.
One moment becomes “frozen in time,” and remembering a trauma may feel as bad as going through it the first time because the images, sounds, smells, and feelings haven’t changed.
As your brain visualizes the problem with eye movements, the way you think and feel about the problem begins to naturally shift. While you retain the ability to recall the facts of the incident(s), you no longer experience the intense emotions previously associated with it. -
ART uses eye movements to mimic the REM phase of sleep and enhance ability to change.
The REM (Rapid Eye Movement) phase of sleep is when learning and processing of emotional memories occur. The sets of eye movements used with ART “simulate” aspects of REM sleep, enhancing the ability to make positive changes to memories, and relaxing us in the process.
